Our outdoor design process

Designing an outdoor space is more than just planning – it’s about listening, imagining and bringing a vision to life. Our process is deeply creative, guided by both your dreams and the unique personality of the space itself. Here’s how we bring it all together:
  1. Walking the space and listening

Every project begins with a walk through the space together this is where I listen to your dreams, desires, and how you hope to use the space whether it’s a backyard retreat a kitchen garden or a large scale outdoor experience I take not just what it said, but also how the space feels.

2. Letting the space speak

After our initial conversation, I take time to be in the space alone. This is where the creative process truly begins. I asked myself what does this place want to be rather than forcing a design? I let the land its surroundings and it’s natural flow guide the vision.

3. Gathering inspiration & creating a vision board

Once the concept starts taking shape, I search for inspiration – drawing from Pinterest books, past projects in the natural world, and then curate an inspiration board, pulling together colors, textures, and design elements to capture the feeling of the space. This step helps translate abstract ideas into something visual intangible before moving into sketching.

4. Sketching & Conceptual Design

My designs are artistic, organic and hands-on - more like an art project than a technical blueprint, using hand sketches. I lay out the big ideas playing with the natural movement of the space rather than rigid structures. These conceptual drawings capture the soul of the design showing how everything flows together in a way that feels natural and effortless.

5. Presenting the Vision

Once the sketches are ready, we review them together. This is where you’ll see your dreams and the space’s story come together in the way that feels inspired, thoughtful, and uniquely yours.

Build it.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
